    LOCAL BUSINESS. INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE.

Clarity for Adelaide owners planning what comes next

For an established or family-owned business, a valuation is often the starting point for a bigger conversation: selling, bringing in a partner or handing over to the next generation. We help Adelaide owners and their advisors understand the commercial position before deciding what comes next.

For an Adelaide professional practice, a food business or a specialist manufacturer, value depends on more than last year’s profit. We consider repeat revenue, key people, equipment, customer relationships and how the business would operate through a change of ownership.

Our Melbourne-based practice supports Adelaide and South Australian clients through direct video consultations and collaboration with their accountant or lawyer. We explain the proposed scope in plain language and match the report to its intended use.

    YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

    Business valuation FAQs

Which valuation service do I need?

An EOV can suit preliminary planning where an indicative assessment is enough. A formal SME valuation provides more detailed analysis and reporting for an agreed purpose. Expert witness and litigation engagements address the requirements of a dispute or proceeding. Tell us what you need to achieve and we’ll help you choose.

How do you value a Adelaide business?

We consider the business’s financial performance, maintainable earnings, assets, risks and relevant market evidence. Depending on the engagement, we may use income, market or asset-based approaches. The report explains the approach and assumptions behind the conclusion.

Can you help with a legal, tax or shareholder matter?

Yes. We provide valuations for these purposes, with the report and scope agreed at the outset. We can work with your accountant or lawyer to clarify the intended use and relevant reporting requirements.

How long will my valuation take?

Timing depends on the report type, business complexity and available information. We confirm an expected timeframe when scoping your engagement. If you have a deadline, tell us in your initial enquiry so we can assess availability.

What do I need for the first conversation?

Simply tell us a little about your business, why you need a valuation and when you need it. After that, we’ll guide you through the relevant financial information and provide a tailored request. You don’t need to prepare a full document pack before contacting us.

Do you have an office in Adelaide?

Our headquarters are in Melbourne. We service Adelaide and SA through video meetings, secure document exchange and direct collaboration with clients and their advisors. In-person attendance can be discussed where the engagement requires it.

Can a valuation help when a partner joins or exits an Adelaide business?

Yes. An independent assessment can help the parties understand the value of the business or interest being considered. We first clarify the ownership structure, valuation date and intended use. Any shareholder agreement or transaction terms can then be considered with your professional advisors as part of the agreed scope.
