Independent Business Valuation Advice for Sydney and NSW

Expert Business Valuations assists business owners, directors, shareholders, lawyers, accountants and transaction stakeholders throughout Sydney and New South Wales.

Our headquarters are in Melbourne, and Sydney engagements are delivered through a streamlined Australia-wide service model. Initial scoping, management interviews and report discussions can be completed by video conference, while financial and operational information is exchanged securely. In-person attendance can be arranged where the engagement requires it.

The location of the valuer does not change the need for a purpose-specific, independent assessment. What matters is the quality of the financial analysis, the appropriateness of the valuation methodology, the supporting market evidence and a clear understanding of the business being valued.

    Frequently Asked Questions

The methodology depends on the business, available information and purpose of the engagement. We may consider earnings-based, market and asset-based approaches, together with industry evidence, business-specific risks and reasonableness checks. The report explains the selected approach, key assumptions and supporting analysis.

The engagement must be scoped for its intended purpose and users. Where a valuation is required for family law, shareholder disputes, taxation, restructuring or litigation, we will discuss the applicable reporting requirements, information needs and whether a formal valuation or expert engagement is appropriate. No report should be assumed suitable for a particular proceeding until the scope is confirmed.

Timing depends on the scope, complexity and availability of complete financial and operational information. After the initial consultation, we will confirm the required documents, proposed approach and expected delivery timeframe in the engagement proposal.

Our headquarters are located at Ground Floor, 470 St Kilda Road, Melbourne. We service Sydney and New South Wales through video meetings, secure document exchange and direct collaboration with clients and their professional advisors. Where an engagement requires in-person attendance, this can be discussed during scoping.

Requirements vary by engagement, but commonly include three to five years of financial statements and tax returns, current management accounts, details of owners and related-party items, budgets or forecasts, key contracts, lease information and background on the business and valuation purpose. We provide a tailored information request after the scope is confirmed.
